THE OLDEST SETTLEMENT İN TURKEY: THE KARAIN CAVE
The Karain Cave, located at 30 kilometers away from Antalya on the eastern face of the Çam Mountain, is the oldest settlement in Turkey dating back to Paleolithic Age (50,000 BC). The unigue entrance illuminated by the morning sun opens to three interconnected sections. Despite some of the findings are in the small museum at the entrance, most of the works are exhibited at various museums in Turkey.
The preserved area of Termessos ancient city, located at the Güllük Mountain Natural Park to the northwest of Antalya, is on the plateau at an altitude of 1050 meters, on the western slope of the Güllük Mountain. An untouched nature surrounds you while exploring the monuments of this city.
The mountains rising from the sea level are preserved with the Olympos and Bey Mountains National Parks from the Konyaaltı Beach as far as the Kırlangıç Peninsula. The history of this area, the ancient Lycian Peninsula dates back to the Neolithic Age (1,000 BC) with the settlement caves at Beldibi.
